I am a nurse and was hoping I could go back to work 24 hours a week once LO is born (7am to 7pm). DH works M-F, so on my weekends (every 3rd) he would watch them. I was thinking of having someone come to my home those 2 days, and maybe have my dad come over at 5pm to relieve the sitter/nanny. But how do you find these people. I've heard of sitter city, but is there anywhere else? I live in Brookline. Daycare is just so expensive ($2100 full time at sunshine academy) and I don't need full time care. Any suggestions?
Re: nurses or those who work 12 hour shifts-childcare options?
The Massachusetts Department of Early Education & Care provides some resources on its web site, which you might find helpful: https://tinyurl.com/34omoye
Or, these companies provide services similar to sittercity:
Care.com (https://tinyurl.com/3y289hk)
Parents in a Pinch (https://www.parentsinapinch.com/ParentsInAPinch.aspx)
Hope that's helpful!
