Motivation to get up and out!

I have been a SAHM since DD was born, but this is my first time posting on this board. ::::waves hi to all the SAHMs::::

DD and I have a pretty good routine down as far as eating, napping and play time go. But honestly? I stink at taking her places. Even running errands, I normally wait for DH to get home and we all go together. Besides running errands, what kinds of things can I do out of the house with an 8 month old?

  • Baby and me classes through your local parks department

    Story time at the library

Play groups/play dates with moms who have similarly aged-children

Swings at the park (the one that is enclosed)

    Hikes/nature walks in the stroller

  • go swimming, go to the park and push her in the bucket swings, library story times (they usually sing songs and are fun), shopping, the zoo (my 8 month old is particularly in love with the birds), the beach.

  • Don't feel bad. It took me until he was about that age to really get him out too. I'd do the same thing- wait for DH to come home or have my mom come over- it was just easier to go out w/o him.

In the fall check out to see if your town does a mom and kids playgroup. Ours does and I love it. We go 2x a week for an hour in the morning. Its just toys set up on mats in the gym and the cozy coupes being pushed all around, and then we sing songs at the end- but lits lots of fun and you'll meet other moms. Also try storytime at the library.

    GL!
