My pedi told us that Motrin was fine after 6 months. I found that it worked better (and lasted longer) for teething than Tylenol. The dose depends on weight -- if you call your pedi, they can look it up on their chart. I think that you still have to buy generics because of the recall. Ava hated the taste, so we had to put it in her bottle.
Yes! It's just infant ibuprofen. At 9 months, Stella was on 1.875 ml and we just use the Up & Up brand from Target.
You may want to check with your Ped though. Stella has a virile infection in her throat right now the her Ped recommended she take 1 tsp. of the Children's motrin. It works way better!

Yes!! I'm looking at my dosing chart and 6-11 months (12-17 lbs) is 1.25ml in the infant drops. The next dose is 1.875 ml for 12-23 months and 18-23 lbs. We get up and up from Target.
We gave it to Sam recently to help with ear infection pain. He loathes the flavor - even refused the bottle we put it in. Ugh. We used the dye-free generic version. Stuff smells like fake berry flavor from a mile away - ugh.
IIRC, the dosing for 6-12 months old is 1.25 mL (or 50mg).
I am a runner, knitter, scientist, DE-IVF veteran, and stage III colon cancer survivor.
Every 6 hours as needed. We used generic, sometimes the infant drops, sometimes the stuff for older, which is less concentrated. Just be very sure of which type you are using, a consult your pedi for the dose.
