Katie hadn't had a bm since Saturday and was up most of the night last night screaming, grabbing her leg, squatting on the floor, etc. When I took her in for her misquito bites the dr gave me a suppository and told me to use one. Dh put it in while I was at work and she had a tiny bm but it came out. When I got home, I tried another and the same thing happened. Only a tiny bit (if any) of the suppository is getting in. Should I just let it be and try again tomorrow or try tonight?

the trick to using those is you have to get it up past the sphinter - use your pinkie finger (clean) and gently insert it up about an inch. at that point you'll meet a lil' resistance, and that's the tight muscle rings you need to push it past. You'll know it's past it because it will slip up and run away from you, lol. Like, whoa! where did it go?
Most constipation issues are higher up, not just sitting an inch from coming out. I'm a huge fan of a couple (orange scented) prunes or some juice on ice.
