My DH sent me this article today after our discussion on drinking and pregnancy. We are regular subscribers to the New York times and I personally found this interesting (it is a little old) you don't have to agree with any of what they say or you can agree, I just thought some people might find it interesting and others will not. Your opinion is yours ![]()

Re: An interesting article
Interesting. I know my bff's mom was told to drink one glass of red wine a day to control her iron level by her Ob. Granted that was 26 years ago, but still after the warning was put out.
My Ob basically told me and DH that pretty much everything about what not to eat is a bunch of junk unless it's raw/rare or caffine.
Thanks for the read, even if it was old
You are welcome! My OB is pretty old fashion/traditional (which I love) everytime I ask her a question she always says "well how in the world did you survive your mothers womb" I try not to get all wrapped up in the craziness of it all.

thanks for sharing. personally, I am part of society that thinks its unacceptable. One woman in the article called it an 'acceptable risk'... by why take ANY risk? Especially since its not life-improving changing risk.
9 months of no alcohol is a blip on the radar of life... if you can't hold your liquor for 9 months for the sake of your child, whether the risks are exaggerated or not maybe you should have thought twice before you got pregnant.
This was a great article to read! I am an advocate for red wine consumption for everybody. It is good for your blood, and like people have pointed out, it really does help with breast milk production. Thanks for sharing...
I especially like this line from the article:
"And the public seems to seriously doubt whether pregnant women can be trusted to make responsible decisions on their own."
LOL! It's like because we are having babies, we make decisions like babies or children at the least.
