Does anyone take their pet to VCA Specialty Center? Can you tell me how they are, etc.? Our dog had cataract surgery in Baton Rouge and still has to see a vet. ophthalmologist for follow up care. Unfortunately, that is the closest one. TIA!
I've never gone to the VCA Specialty Center, but I have taken a pet to another VCA location in Fishers on east 96th. I thought they were really nice and didn't have any problems with them at all. I did switch vets, but only because there was one right by my new house at the time.
I have always heard generally negative reviews of VCA vets.
We *love* our regular vet, and the emergency vet that he recommends for when his office is closed is this one -- Circle City Vets. They also have specialties including ophthalmology, so I would go there instead of VCA.

We had to have our lab observed overnight at the VCA in Castleton after a bowel resection. It was quite expenive, but the vet who cared for him was very nice. Our regular vet is at Allisonville Animal Hospital, and they are awesome.

We took our dog to the one in Anderson to be spayed and neutered (you read that right) other than surgery cost we have no complaints. We regularly go to a VCA in Greenwood and we took him to one on the northwest side to determine if he really was a hermaphrodite or not.
We have taken our dogs to the VCA in Beech Grove for 6-7 years and have been very pleased. Marley used to be blood donor there, and they have a beautiful new facility. They are always very kind and flexible with evening/weekend appointment times, which is key for us. Not familiar with the specialty center, though. good luck!
