Recommendations for a high risk OB?
We just hit the six week mark and are super excited. But this pregnancy took almost 2 years to get and I know going into it that I am high risk. Can anyone recommend a good Ob that has experience with high risk (it's not diabetes or anything most of you have heard about) but that will be willing to see me as frequently as needed. We are a military family and don't want to have to deal with base, so the facility has to accept Tricare as well.

Not sure about Tricare, but call San Diego Perinatal and ask to be seen by Dr. Sean Daneshmand. Hands down, the best perinatologist in San Diego. He's very empathetic, gentle and caring. He went above and beyond caring for me and the girls when I was pregnant. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE HIM.

I work at Mary Birch and Dr. Daneshmand is absolutely amazing! The nurses love him and the patients love him! I could rave about him all day:)

I also have Tricare. I switched to Tricare Standard because they wanted me to see a high risk doctor at Balboa and after several meetings, they weren't going to budge. I refuse to use an MTF, especially one that is an hour away. Since Standard now covers 100% of maternity, it was easier and less stressful to just disenroll in Prime.
I also love that IGO only delivers at Scripps La Jolla and that hospital only has private rooms, so Tricare has to pay for it.
