Last 48 hours have been having menstrual like cramping along with lower back pain....nothing bad, just a little uncomfortable. Lost a wee bit of fluid last night that had a pink tint to it but no pain so I headed to bed and aside from the cramping, felt fine today. Got up to pee tonight and felt a trickle escape me, soaking the crotch of my shorts and after investigating with toilet paper, there was more of the pink tint.
We called the after-hours at my doctor's office and they gave us two options: go into ER or wait until first thing in morning and go to the doctor office. We picked the second option...with how many health issues I've had during this pregnancy and our previous losses, we've seen enough of the hospital staff and we would rather rest at home and see my doctor in the morning. The dr on call did not seem very optimistic. He said that at 20 weeks, there is not much that they can do. (I will be 21 weeks on Thursday). They will do an exam to check if my membranes ruptured...not sure what the plan is after that.
We are trying to avoid getting to worried and worked up, as that can't do anything but harm. We are staying calm, keeping an eye on contractions (I'm having a tightening in my belly happen about twice every 10-12 mins but am in no pain other than my back) and see how the night goes. I am hoping that the doctor tells us that everything is in tact BUT if it was water that I leaked, I'm hoping they can prolong my pregnancy and keep baby safe. It doesn't seem like the dr on the phone had much optimism and told me that at 20 weeks, it would be considered a m/c. I'm not accepting that. We will see how tomorrow goes.
T&P please. Thanks!

T&P coming your way, stay rested up, KUP hope everything is fine or something minor like a UTI ::hugs::
btw: i was the nurse for a baby who's water started leaking at 21 weeks, and she was on hospital bedrest for the next 4 weeks. Baby was delivered at 25 weeks, and actually did really well.
Hoping for a good update later!
