PR: When did you reach the uncomfortable stage?

I know this can be totally different from person to person, but at what point did you start to feel really uncomfortable?  And what was it that was making you so uncomfortable?

And if you say you felt fine throughout your whole pregnancy, don't bother responding. Big Smile  I kid, I kid...

Re: PR: When did you reach the uncomfortable stage?

  • I think it was around 36 weeks or so... Baby's butt/leg/I don't know... was sticking in my ribs... ALL THE TIME.  I literally sat with my hand on the top of my stomach... pushing his body away from my ribs for like the last 4 weeks of my pregnancy.

  • Grrr, damn Bump ate my ENTIRE message!! Ok, second try.

It was right about this time that I felt comfortable. It was harder to get in and out of bed, up and out of chairs, sleeping/rolling over in bed and walking around/up and down stairs. I felt like my pelvis was being ripped apart from the inside and I could never find a comfortable position to sit or sleep. I also saw your post on stretch marks hurting...mine did, too so I just did the same as you (lotion and cool cloths). If you can a swimming pool will help...I just always got so swollen that I had to try to lay down and keep my feet up as much as possible. :( I know probably not what you wanted to hear, huh?

  • I'm there...my ribs hurt so much that wearing a bra is excruciating.  Plus, I am not sleeping well either - I have to keep rolling over because my hips hurt when I lie on my sides.  I keep telling myself it'll be over soon!

  • With Emmy it was during the last few weeks.  My pelvic floor ached.  I swore she would just fall out while I was standing around.

Ethan...it was come and go, I didn't really feel as uncomfortable with him.

  • At 34 weeks I started really slowing down, I just couldn't keep up anymore. Then at 36 weeks we had the version and he droped. OMFG I couldn't walk more than a block without stoping to take a breath and my hips hurt. I only spent one day pg with him that low but one day was enough.

  • I was in hell weeks 5.5-14, and then felt much better till he was born.  I never did get to that "get him out of here!" stage.
  • Right around 30 weeks. DD was sitting high, and it was difficult to breathe. I just got big all of a sudden, getting out of bed was difficult let alone functioning at work or around friends.

  • I had constant naseau for more than the first half of my pregnancy, and then a really great stretch for a while.  I bragged to hubby one night when I was 36 weeks that I totally didn't get people who just couldn't wait to deliver as I was feeling really good.  And within days, it happened.  I couldn't get comfortable, I waddled everywhere, my back and hips ached.
  • PG #1 I felt pretty good until the last couple of weeks then was just too big and wasn't sleeping, having a lot of heartburn, etc. PG#2 I was uncomfortable much earlier - it's hard to chase a toddler around with a huge belly and difficult to put his shoes on, rock him for sleep, etc.

  • Right now it comes and goes, and has been since about 35 weeks.  I am more uncomfortable in the evenings than during the day.

  • I was good until about 30 or so weeks when the puppps nightmare began.  It was pretty much torture from then on out.

  • I started feeling uncomfortable at about 36/37 weeks. That's when I starting swelling like the stay-puff marshmallow man. Mostly, I felt like my feet were so full of fluid that they would eventually explode. I have to say though that even when I didn't feel completely comfortable, I was never in the "get this baby out" stage. I was in denial pretty much up to the point that they sent me in for my induction.

  • I am one of those that shouldn't respond Big Smile I was never uncomfortable at all, just incredibly impatient to meet Sarah.

  • Right at about 30 weeks when the swelling was so bad it was hard to bend my legs by the end of the day.
  • The last couple months were hard. Heart burn, reflux, the baby pushing on my ribs. I think it was also all the weight I gained. It was hard on my body to carry that around.
  • I didn't. Tongue Tied

But looking back at my blog, the Monday before he was born (so 28 wks exactly) I made the comment that he was starting to annoy my bladder... I never got to the really painful kicks stage...

  • I think I may be at the very beginning of the "uncomfortable stage."  The sciatic nerve I've dealt with for months.  But as of the last couple of weeks I can really feel the weight I've packed on...it's harder to get off the couch, out of the car and most frustrating is turning over in bed.  And now with the itchy, burning stretching skin I can't seem to get comfortable at all - at work or at home.  And I'm sure it's only going to get worse....

I try really hard not to complain, but I admit I had a minor breakdown about it last night, which is what prompted the poll.

  • Around the 35-36 week mark.

He was stuck in my ribs and actually sprained it according to the ER DR, sleep was horrible, I gained a ton of weight due to swelling and got pneumonia, I was miserable and I think he was too, since he came earlyStick out tongue

  • I don't know if you actually want my response, but here goes...

I had an awesome pregnancy.  I worked (my a$$ off) until I was 35.5 weeks at a fast-paced restaurant.  I think being so physically active helped me a lot.  I never felt too huge.  Then again, I had O at 37w4d.  So I didn't ever hit that super-pregnant phase that a lot of my friends back East did.
