Can anyone share if they think the Itzbeen is a good thing to have, or just a waste of money? DH and I will do our Target completion coupon soon, and were on the fence about this one. Thanks!!

The Itzbeen is either a total waste to some mom's or the greatest thing ever invented. We bought one with a giftcard and LOVED it. In fact, we just stopped using it a few weeks ago. Its great for when it's 3am and you don't feel like rummaging around for a pen. It even helped me a ton in the beginning by helping me keep track of my pain meds.
We are not the types to need to write it down, ect. For us, it would have been a waste, but I can see where some new moms would have liked having that structure.
We got one as a gift and used it for a few weeks. I remember getting stressed out if I forgot to push the button, or leaving it in another room and not being able to find it. Overall, I'd say pass on it.
I considered one and I'm SO glad we passed. It tells you how long it's been since the last feeding, change, etc....but we always knew that. What we needed was to know how many ounces she was eating over the course of a day, how many times she peed/pooped in a day, how much I pumped, etc., and it was very helpful to write that all down on a chart. Plus, having it on paper really helped in case we ever needed to go back and refer to any changes that were happening, etc., which we did a couple times. The itzbeen wouldn't have told us anything we didn't already know; unfortunately it didn't keep track over a period of time (basically, over a day) which is what we did need to know.
Pregnant with #1 with PCOS and LPD, success with mostly naturopathic treatments
Our Thanksgiving Day baby 11/22/07
Pregnant with #2 with LPD, uterine polyp/hysteroscopy, DOR (AMH = 0.17), 2 c/ps
Our early Christmas present 12/9/10
we loved it. I'm really bad at remembering what time the baby ate last or anything like that so it was a lifesaver for me. I also really loved the night light and used that to nurse at night instead of turning on the lamp in the bedroom.

We have one and love it. It's always kept in the same location in the nursery and easy for either of us to check how long it's been for whatever. Writing down info at 3am was not going to work for us, but this gadget did. I'd recommend it, but it's tough to know whether you'll use it or not as it totally depends on your personality.

I really like ours, too. Sure, I forget to hit the button sometimes... I don't always hit it whenever start nursing (DD likes to dawdle and nursing is at least a one-handed process for me) but it's particularly helpful for when I forget to look at the time we started. I also like it at night because it helps me know when to wake her up if I wake up and she's not awake yet.
I only use the diaper and feed part though.. I don't use the nap part because, well, she eats then usually passes out into a milk coma.
I liked it, but I used it for pumping primarily. It helped me time how long I'd pumped for.
The other time it was helpful was night changes/feedings. I'd do one, then DH would do the next. He could look at the timer and see if G had been changed/nursed and what he needed to do without waking me up. So for the extra sleep it was worth the $20 ;p
