where Jake cries/whines/pouts when ever I (or DH) leave him alone for a minute. I guess this is separation anxiety? Any suggestions for how to get through this stage? How long does it last?
I would say that yes that is separation anxiety. It could be brief, or last a bit. All we do is say, Mama is going to the kitchen to.... I will come right back, or Daddy is going to work, and you will see him after nap.
I just always remind them that we always come back. Leaving them is part of your day, so the best we as parents can do is try to be matter of fact and reassuring! It is the WORST feeling though.. breaking their heart!
Reed and Penny both have that right now because it was just me looking after them while we were on vacation and we were staying in different places, seeing different people all the time.
I am hoping it is just a phase. Reed is usually very independent.
