After losing Sophia, I was in no place to buy a baby present for my niece that was to be born just days after my LO. She was born June 28, and I still haven't been able to bring myself to purchase her and my brother and sil a gift. Could you help me pick out something very special? I want to do this for them, know they understand why I haven't, but can't bring myself to do it on my own. What would be your extra special gift you would want for the birth of your first daughter? She is wearing 0-3 now, if that helps. Thanks in advance. You all are such peaches!

Re: Girls, I need you
NestingAway, I know how hard this can be. When I lost my son, it was hard to be happy for others especially with babies born around the same time. I still find it hard because I look at babies who are the same age as my son would have been.
That is very nice of you to get them something, but I am sure they understand where you are coming from.
I am so sorry and can't imagine how hard this must be for you. I know that will make any gift you give them extra special to them.
My favorite gifts were things that were personalized or handmade. Maybe you could find something on etsy or have a blanket (or something) monogrammed.
How about a baby blanket with her name and birthdate on it. Or something like this from Etsy. It is bloomers with her name on them.
Big hugs. I am sure whatever you get them will be special for them.
My best friend got us a personalized lovey blanket for Megan's baptism. I wish I had a baby to buy one for. It is so soft and snuggly. We have Lynne Lamb (pink). She had her full name put on it.

Oh, honey. This makes me so sad. You're a much better person than I, I'll say that. I really wouldn't worry about it. But if you really want to, I would suggest ordering something online and having it shipped (even if they're right down the street!) I also found books to be fairly "safe," a classic hardback is always appreciated. Oh, and we received a personalized lovey from Restoration Hardware that we love. ((Hugs))
ETA: Not sure if you'll see my post below or not; I sent you a private message
Nolan Received a book called "On the Night You Were Born" which was beautiful, and should come with a tear warning.
Another thing that I would have always kind of liked is a hanging growth chart like THIS
I am sure that they understand, and this is a huge thing for you.
Also, on a side note, I think that we do not live too far from each other from what I have gathered on your blog!

(((BIG HUG))) you are so strong, hon. i can only imagine how hard this is for you.
We have loved the personalized stuff the most... from hooded towels with her name on it, to a gorgeous quilt with her monogram, to a photo album with her name hand painted on it. I think the quilt is something she'll always have... it just looks like an heirloom.
take good care of yourself hon!
Because we're fancy like that.
Your heart might be breaking, but it is still so big!
I bought this for myself https://www.personalcreations.com/vintage_baby_block-product-10C102-2-310-31005.html
And I also love to get (for others) silver baby cups or baby forks and spoons, engraved wih initials.

the twins received books (the ones with the leaves on the front cover) for their 1st bday - I think they are so cool... won't read to them until they are a bit older- but such neat and unique gifts --- i think any new parent would love.
I'm so sorry for your loss and continued heartache
i am so sorry
i know how hard this must be for you
i would get them this gift - i'm sure they have plenty of clothes and what not
