NBR: Need washing machine recs.

My washing machine conked out on Sunday and I'm on the hunt for a new one. 

Do you love or hate yours?  Would you buy again?  What kind do you have?

My only specifications are

I want a top loader (I'm still not convinced a front loader lives up to the hype, and I'm a cheapskate)

It can't be a GE  (My BIL and SIL just bought a new home with top of the line GE appliances and 2 of them went out before a year, the dishwasher catching on fire)

    I have a basic Sears model and I love it! Also the service was great with installation and everything.

    I won't be much help, I had to buy a new washer at Christmas and we got a GE to go with the dryer we have. I got it from Home Depot and love it. I did their 6 months same as cash financing option for opening up a CC with them. They price matched the price at Sears, plus with a 10% discount for opening up a CC I got it for less than at Sears. Totally worth it, and I now have a CC for our home improvement needs.

    We have had a front loader for 3 years, and have been very happy with it.  I know you don't want one, but the brand is LG.  I think they make top loaders too?

    Thanks for the help ladies.  I went to Sears today to look and they had a Whirlpool floor model regular price $1200 and I got it for $600 AND DH also let me get a floor model stove, which was $300 off regular price.  It was like Christmas for me.
