After being with my friend who just had her babies for a few days, I'm realizing how clueless some people are about how hard it is on new mommy/daddy/babies! They have an entitlement/right mentality (i.e, "I'm the ____, so I deserve to see the new mom/dad/babies"). Also clueless about what they actually need and want while there. (i.e, don't bring someone a big gift that they just have to lug home!!!). Clueless about walking right into a hospital room without knocking (hello!? haven't you heard of breastfeeding/pumping?). Etc, etc, etc. I could go on and on...
Anyway... I have to give all the credit to you ladies who I've watched go through the pregnancy/birthing process and heard stories, vents, and suggestions. All of that has made me (though I'm not 100% perfect) more conscientious about how to be with them, how to help them and what to do/not do. It's given me an awareness about how to put their needs first.
So... THANK YOU. Thank you for being so open and honest with all of us non-moms (and moms).
Re: Thank you for giving me an awareness
