I am new to the Bump. My hubby and I are super excited about trying for pregnancy and want to get pregnant. However I am torn right now over a decision. We are planners and many I talk with have told us"throw planning out the window" but, we wanted to at least try to plan, and if it doesnt work-- oh well. So long story short, we hope to get prego this August therefore, I will miss minimal amt. of work and have at least 3 plus months in the summer with newborn full time.
The ob told me I either need to get prego or get on the pill due to some health concerns. Also I am working with a dietician and getting my health on track since I am a vegetarian. So I am struggling with anxiety over --Can I truly be a healthy Vegetarian while pregnant? and Can I lose the extra 8-10 pounds prior to trying in August? Is 3 weeks countdown!!!
How easy is it really to lose weight post pregnancy and some?
Anybody experiencing the same anxiety over these questions?
Re: Fears before pregnancy--anyone feel same?
My SILs (vegetarian and vegan) have had 5 healthy pregnancies between them.
I have no idea how easy/hard it is to lose weight post pregnancy. it's different for everyone.
I never felt these particular anxieties, but most people have some anxiety over trying to get pregnant.
Hi and welcome!!
I also share similar planning anxieties! My husband and I aren't trying to conceive yet but plan on starting in a couple months (because I am trying to plan around my work schedule too!) Are you a teacher also? It just seemed like you may be because you mentioned having the summer off.
I have heard from people that if you wait for the "perfect" time to start your family you will never do it because there is no perfect time. A certain amount of planning is a great thing, it shows you are responsible and realize how much your life will change with a little one, however you can't control all of the little details surrounding it. Keep working with your dietitian to try to lose a few pounds before pregnancy and stick to your vegetarian plan during. I'm sure it's possible to do this, especially with the help of your dietitian!
I hope everything goes great for you!

Thank you for your kind response. I am not a teacher, but close- a counselor. Are you a teacher? Good luck to you with your new marriage and planning for baby (-=
