Walking furbaby and stroller..any good way?

Is there any good way to walk the dog and stroller at the same time? How do you guys do it? one hand on stroller, one hand on leash? Tie leash to stroller? other suggestions?

  • I use my Moby wrap and walk both my dogs.  I hope to one day be able to juggle the stroller and dogs at once, but it's not happening anytime soon.

ETA: I would NOT tie the leash to the stroller.  If the dog takes off, there goes baby!

  • Sometimes I tie the leash to the stroller and other times I use my leash that attaches to my waist so I don't have to hold the leash...BUT...my dog is also trained and walks beside us without pulling.

  • Easy Walker Harness from Premier

You can walk them with your pinky!  And they don't feel so confined as with other harnesses that go over the muzzle.   Magic!

  • Our dog likes to run after any cat, squirrel, dog, etc that he sees on our walks. I either have to put the baby in a carrier or have my husband with me so one of us can push the stroller and the other handle the dog.
  • I have 2 dogs and 2 babies. So I use the double strroller and a leash coupler (I hold one leash, it splits in 2 at the end), hold leash, wrap it around wrist, and then push stroller with both hands. I learned early on not to tie leash to stroller. My dogs walk well, buy a rabbit caught their eyes and they nearly tipped the stroller when DS1 was a baby.

  • I bought this harness the day the dog took off after a cat when I was walking him 7 months pregnant and he pulled me down and put me into labor. The labor was stopped but I couldn't risk it happening again. This harness is awesome!!! And it was only $20! Just make sure you get the one where the leash goes in front of the dog and not the back.

I just tried this last night and it went pretty well.  I have 2 pugs and it took them a while but they eventually learned to walk on the side of behind the stroller.  I had one hand on the stroller and one hand with 2 leashes.  THey both have harnesses, but that's because they are pugs and it's better for their breathing.  It's hard to do and I'd rather have DH walk with me, but at least I know I can do it.  Just give it a try and don't stray too far from home in case it doesn't go well.

  • Definitly use the gentle lead harness, you can even tie it to the straller. I have a large dog that likes to pull, but with that thing on his nose he is extremely well behaved. I do have to hide it from him when it's off or he will chew it up, so I can't use it.
