Atticus Reed has arrived!

Friday night we went to have our advanced medical directives signed (nothing like putting it off for the last moment), and when we were walking back home from our friends home, I started having strong contractions. That was at about 9:00 PM. We timed them for a few hours, and when they started getting really close together, and I wasn't handling the pain as well as I thought I would, so we headed to the hospital at around 1:30AM.

When we got there, they measured me to see how far along I was. I was a little disappointed when they said I was at 4cm, but they wouldn't let me go back home. I'm glad I didn't go home, because the contractions got much, much stronger.

By 4:30, I couldn't take it anymore, and asked for an epidural. They measured me again, and I was at about 7cm! After they gave me the epidural, I was able to relax a little, and even got a tiny bit of sleep. I had to keep changing positions because his heartrate kept dropping, but the doctor didn't seem too concerned. During one final position change, my water broke, and it looked like pea soup...

The doctor said, we should try to get him out as quickly as possible, so we started pushing at about 6:30, and by 7:32 he was here! 7lbs, 15oz, 20.5 inches long, with a full head of curly black hair. I had a second degree tear from pushing so hard, but he is so worth it. We are over the moon in love with him!
