I'd like to throat punch whoever said it's the honeymoon period! Yeah the nausea went away and I do have a little more energy but a whole new batch of other symptoms pop up! Some of which I'd gladly trade for the nausea and exhaustion of 1st tri!
I'm exhausted, have heart burn and indigestion and my feet feel like I walked on hot coals because they are swollen.
Haha! Yeah, what Monkey said.
I'm still exhausted. I loose my breathe easily also (dr said my body should adjust around 24 wks, yay). Can't sleep cause I'm big, still get up to potty a lot. Now begin the aches and pains...
But I'm still happy to be out of the 1st tri...not ready for 3rd tri (I have about 5 more weeks, ahhh)

I have to agree with Monkey. It's a myth. I don't have m/s anymore but now I randomly puke with no warning, still tired, and I still can't even imagine raw food or I want to hurl.
For me, it did. I had horrible morning sickness, which subsided around week 14. Now I feel great! Only complaint would be round ligament pain sometimes. As far as fatigue, I'm still tired, but it's the difference between going to bed at 8pm and 11pm.

During first tri, I never thought I'd never feel good again. I was so miserable. Right now I am feeling great! I deal with acid reflux still but it's a lot better right now, and this gross taste in my mouth now and then. But all the other stuff is gone.
Constipation, vomiting, nausea, food aversions, smell aversions, fatigue - gone. I feel almost normal. I am enjoying my bump and baby kicks. Second tri is SO MUCH BETTER. If I still felt like I did during first tri, I would never do this again.

I think it does go away but then you start getting bigger and that alone will wear you out quicker, lol.

I don't feel much better; but then, I've barely got my toes into the 2nd tri. I still feel everything- nausea, food aversions, fatigue- but a little less.
Brushing my teeth still makes me vomit though. Anyone else?

The second tri has been glorious for me! My morning sickness decreased dramatically at around 12-13 weeks and completely left around 15-16 weeks. I'm no where near as tired as I was in the first tri, when I'd be in bed by 8 every night. I now have the energy to work an 8-9 hour day, commute over an hour to and from the office (each way), cook dinner for the fam and watch a little tv before bed. I was struggling to do that in the first tri.
Oh, and I only have a few of the "new" symptoms everyone speaks of. I've kept my heartburn under control by not eating overly greasy foods or eating late at night (I have fruit instead), aches and pains aren't too bad if I find a comfy sleeping position (pillow between the legs), and everything else has been pretty light (here today, gone tomorrow).
The only annoying thing is that I pee like 500 times a day now, but oh well, I can't complain. I'll take that over feeling like a nauseas zombie any day!
It must be a little better because you guys have a great sense of humor
Thanks all!
::waving from my afterlife:: that's all just because we are the most awesomest chicks around. We are all BFF's! We stand by each other and support one another NO MATTER WHAT! Ain't that right TayTay?
I've been feeling quite a bit better over the past few weeks. I was VERY sick in the first tri... all day nausea, throwing up, tired, etc. Now I have good days and bad days... but not nearly as bad as it was before.
I don't know if it's amazingly better, but DH and I have had sex more this last week than we did the whole 1st tri! Still working on getting a normal appetite, but definitely not so exhausted. But everyone's different! Feel better
Well, the first tri wasn't too bad for me. I was majorly fatigued, but I never threw up or anything like that. The second tri was pretty great once they figured out I was anemic and I started taking the iron pills. I've had horrid indegistion, but other than that, I've felt fine.
2nd tri has been way better for me, but there are still moments of "WTF are you doing, body?" My fatigue and m/s seems to come back when the girls are having a growth spurt, which is happening more frequently now that they're gaining weight. It's not every day like it was in 1st tri, though.
The food aversions are almost all gone, but I still can't stand the smell of meat or eggs cooking. The constipation is gone unless I do something stupid like eat a banana. Zantac has become my BFF. Cankles have begun making an appearance and it's getting more and more difficult to do simple things like put on underwear and tie my shoes.
It's all worth it, though, when you feel the kicking and moving. Even when they're kicking your cervix.
Unable to even.

I'm less tired than I was (still tire out easily, just not as bad), but now my hip hurts if I do too many stairs or bend over too many times in a day. Oh, and I've puked up my breakfast 3 mornings in a row this week. 2nd tri is awesome.
It has definitely been a honeymoon for me. The nausea and extreme exhaustion are gone (happened at 12 weeks almost on dot). I don't have my pre-pregnancy energy, but I'm getting to the gym 4x/week and I don't pass out at 8:00. The food aversions are gone, so I'm back to my healthy eating patterns again.
The only new symptoms have been heartburn and constipation, which I've been able to control with TUMS and Metamucil. If the first trimester hadn't ended, then I'm pretty sure LO would be an only child! Now I'm starting to think that I might be able to do this again.
For me it has been better because I am not as tired & am able to get lots more done... Its just getting uncomfortable to sleep now.. =( You will just keep trading one symptom for another to be honest.... & everyones different..
For me, the fatigue didn't go away at all, but I feel so much better every day that I don't feel like it's a bad thing anymore. I no longer feel like I was hit by a train when I get out of bed in the morning! But most days I still could use a 1-2 hour nap in the afternoon.
Lol, me either! Or the lovely ligament pains! Just the past few days, I've been feeling less nausea, but I've also learned that eating certain foods like fruit and graham crackers constantly keeps away the nausea... so who knows? I don't want to be a whiney person for another 6 months... I know that much...
It's different for everyone. I was pretty tired for most of 1st tri and I'm still really tired a lot of the time. Also, I have back pain and trouble sleeping. I know a lot of women feel great, and lot feel worse, it's a toss up!
I never regained my spunk nor my libido last time, and nothing yet this time either.
I have horrid sciatic pain, crampy, painful lower stomach... at least I'm not puking 6 times a day. So I guess it's better.
3rd tri was the worst for me last time. I worked till the end, had GD, a huge baby, and horrendous pelvic pain- so bad I couldn't lift my leg without crying. AWESOME!
Re: To Those Who Survived the 1st Tri
It's a myth to lure you in.....
I'm exhausted, have heart burn and indigestion and my feet feel like I walked on hot coals because they are swollen.
I didn't survive 1st tri.
I died and reappeared here in 2nd tri.
Amazing huh!
And yes, its wonderful despite all the new symptoms cause I get to feel my LO kicking the snot outta me everyday
I started feeling a million times better at 18-19 weeks. I had food aversions and morning sickness up until that point though.
You could feel completely differently, not only because all pregnancies are different, but because you're having twins.

This is effin' hilarious!! And I much agree. My worst m/s kicked in about a week ago...and I remain tired and worn out!!
