He cannot be contained!! Time to change diaper size??

OK, after 3 diaper failures (one up the back, two out by his legs) in 2 days, I'm wondering if either I don't know how to put a diaper on or if I need to change sizes. I know size questions have been asked before, but I can't remember the adviice- sorry!

Will is about 10.5lbs, so would definitely be size 1 (size 1 in theory covers up to 14 lbs and size 2 doesn't start until 12 lbs) by the box. Is it too early to go up in size?

Also any diaper usage advice? Is it possible that I'm doing it wrong?

    Generally when Mia started/starts leaking, it means the diaper size is wrong.  The weight "limits" really are more of a general guideline.  I think about that size, she was headed into size 2s. 

    I tend to try to make sure it covers her butt, but is pulled up a little further in the front to catch more.  Sometimes it helps.

    Erika is tall for her weight, so we moved up diaper sizes pretty quick. I think we moved her into size 2s at 11 lbs, even though the size 1s said they'd hold... they didn't.

    She moved to size 3 at 14 lbs even though size 2s were supposed to hold. We learnt it was worth the switch despite the price increase!

    W/ sizes 1 - 4, DS was ready to move up to the next size a couple pounds early.  But going to size 5 - he's still fine in 4's and he's heavy enough for 5's now.

    are you putting any ointment on his penis?  When we were putting it on the boys after their circ they leaked CONSTANTLY - we finally realized that the vaseline was covering the diaper and not allowing the pee to absorb - once we stoped the vaseline the leaking stopped.

    or move up a size :)

    my Gibby has always been a lot bigger in size b/c he's soooo wide - not just his weight- but how wide his belly/ribs are has dictated a big size. He's 1 y/o and fits into size 6 well now... but i use 5's b/c he JUST fits into them and they are cheaper, lol.
