2nd Trimester

SO, when did you start wearing make up?

I didn't *really* start wearing make up until I was 24.

Even now, I'm not reallly into it like that. I do my eyes up sometimes but unless DH and I are going somewhere, I skip the powder and blush.

As long as my brows are neat and I don't have eye boogers, I'm good. LOL

Re: SO, when did you start wearing make up?

  • Sophomore year of High School. I was such a tomboy up until then that it never mattered to me. I barely wear it now though.

I started with lip gloss and mascara at around 12 or 13.

I added more as I got older and by high school would wear a full face every day (foundation, blush, eye shadow, liner, mascara, and gloss).

Now, I won't leave the house without at least powder and mascara.

I think I look scary without something on my face...

  • I guess I really started wearing makeup around 15.  I experimented in 8th grade (I guess around 13) but that's because my mom practically forced me to.  She told me I needed to "put some color into my face."  She is very "girly" and I wasn't at the time, though now I'm one of the most feminine of all my friends.

  • I wore some face powder, mascara and lip gloss in high school.  To be honest that is still about all I wear unless I am going "out"...and I mean "out".  I do use products now to make my skin glow, keep wrinkles at bay, and help with flaws.
  • I wore a very small amount in the last year of high school. Basically just enough to cover (or attempt to cover) my acne.

While in college I wore full out make-up everyday... but I don't think I've put on any make-up since graduation back in January. I just couldn't be bothered.

  • I started around 8 or 9 ONLY because I have psoriasis and it was on my face so my mom taught me out to use cover up to hide it. I didnt do eyes etc... it was just to cover up.

Blush and a litttle eye shadow when I was  like 14...

Around 16 doing anything I wanted (with in reason ha).

  • My mom took me to get a "lesson" when I was 13 and she took me to get some light natural make-up. I don't remember if I wore it every day.

I wore full face in high school mainly because my acne was bad.

Now I will wear it some days and not other days. It's mostly very light. I think as long as I am not tired I look pretty good without make-up on.

  • :: Lurking from 3rd Tri :: I still don't really wear make-up! I wore clear gloss and blush sometimes before I got pregnant, but that's it. I don't wear any now and the only time I wore a full face of make-up was for my wedding. I just don't want to be one of those people who just have to wear it or they look hideous! Luckily, I don't have bad skin to begin with!

On another note, have you seen Oprah w/o make-up?? Not a pretty sight! Lol

  • I was 14 and it was mainly eye liner (I have small eyes) and powder due to acne and somewhat oily skin. Even today eye liner and powder. Though before I got pregnant I wore a little blush for some color, don't really need it now. Every once in awhile for a special occassion I'll use some neutral eye shadow and a swipe of mascara. I really prefer a more natural look.
  • I started getting interested in makeup my freshman year of high school.  I'm a big fan of eye shadow and lip gloss.  I wear it occasionally now, but it's not an everyday thing for me.  DH actually hates it when I wear anyting besides chap stick. (He says I'm too pretty to cover up Stick out tongue)

  • My parents allowed me to start wearing makeup my freshman year of high school, so I was 14.  I usually just wore some mascara and lip gloss.  I'm still not really into a lot of make up.  I wear some powder, eyeshadow, mascara and lip gloss.  But I don't wear make up everyday.

  • I still dont wear it a lot, basically because I dont know WTF I am doing when it comes to applying it. So I do foundation, mascara & gloss...today because I was bored in the Dr's office waiting to get my blood drawn I was playing with my eyes...I think I look very streetwalker chic.
  • Unless it was a special occasion not until college so 19...I don't wear it much now either.  I was a tom boy but I also didn't see the point.  I figure as long as I am put together and clean what else do I need.  If DH and I are going out to dinner or to a party then fine but other then that..eh.

Hmm... I was in college, so may 19 or 20? And for a long time I was just a concealer/powder/mascara girl (I'm part Croatian--I have dark circles around my eyes) but now I've added in a wee bit o' eyeshadow daily.

  • I was 15 and remember I wouldn't leave the house without a "full face".

It stayed that way up until 2 years ago when I just didn't have the energy anymore before work.

Now I only wear make up if I'm going out.... and it is usually just bronzer, eye shadow and eye liner.

  • 8th grade.  I had pretty bad acne, starting in 5th grade, until I went on Accutane as a junior in high school.  Boys I had crushes on in middle school routinely rejected me because I "had pimples", so I begged my mom to let me start wearing make-up in 8th grade and she finally relented.

While it definitely made my skin look better, I also managed to develop a major self-confidence problem based around wearing make-up.  I remember overhearing a comment from a boy I liked after I started wearing make-up in 8th grade, where he said "well, she's kinda pretty when she has make-up on".  It really affected me.  I wouldn't leave the house without make-up on for a long, looooong time.  I'm fine without wearing make-up now, but I was uncomfortable without make-up on until I was about 23 or 24.

BUT, at least I'm REALLY good at doing my make-up now!  Friends ask me to do theirs for them all the time!  Life skills.  Smile

  • I started a little in middle school, but wore it every where every day in high school...then came college.  I would go to class and then determine if what I was doing afterwards was make-up worthy. :) now it depends on my day..if I am just at the house or running errands I usually don't wear it.

  • I was probably 12 or 13. And then by my mid-20s, I stopped. Now I'm au naturel. I never knew how to apply it correctly anyway. I'll still apply some cosmetics for special occasions, but even then, it's only foundation and/or powder, mascara, blush, and lip gloss.

  • I wasn't allowed to wear makeup until I was 13, and then my mom showed me how to do lipstick and light eye makeup so that I didnt look like a hooker. Apparently she found out that for the past two years, my bff and I had been putting on makeup after we got to school, like pretty pink and bright blue eye shadow with thick mascara and deep pink or red lipstick.

    such is my life ha-ha
  • 16 was the earliest my mom would let me (I'd have really appreciated a tube of concealer in middle school, but oh well).  I've worn it ever since, I always do a full face for work.  Even in college, I might be wearing jeans and a tshirt, but I'd always have my face done.  I just love makeup.  I have a feeling I'm going to be modifying my routine quite a bit come December.

  • I was rocking the Wet N Wild in 7th grade. These days it depends on the occasion or the outfit.    Everyday wear is usually just mascara and glossy chapstick.
  • I started around 15 with lip gloss, a little blush and mascara. I'm 31 now, and I still do not leave the house without a little something on, even gardening in the yard. For work and outings, it's a full face though. I guess I get it from my mom. She won't even go to bed without a little make-up on. Says she doesn't like waking up ugly! lol
  • My mom has never left the house in her entire life without makeup, so it made me want to get started at an early age.  I would say around 12 or so I was wearing lipstick and soon graduated to blush and eyeshadow within a year or two.  By 15, I wore full makeup every day, thanks to a combination of my mom's influence and Teen Magazine.  Then I went away to college, decied I hated makeup and now, I only wear makeup when I go out with friends on a Saturday night, family functions or a special occasion.

  • Started wearing lip gloss and a little powder when I was 13.

Went into full-on makeup by 16

Quit wearing makeup except for special occasions (about once or twice a year) at 26 or 27.

I just don't care.  I look fine without makeup and not a whole lot of people in my circle of friends wear makeup, so I'm not the odd-man-out, so to speak.  I do have a wicked addiction to my Burt's Bees lip balm, though.

  • I think I might have started at like 12 or 13 but I can't remember wearing all the time until high school. These days I'm a licensed makeup artist so I try to go out with my face beat everyday...it is after all my own personal advertisement.

  • Never. Lotion and chapstick is the most I've ever done to my face. I have no idea what I'll do if I have a child who wants to wear the stuff.
  • I started wearing mascara in 7th grade.  I am blonde and have super-light eyelashes, which make it look like I don't have eyelashes at all and that's kind of freaky looking.  I didn't start wearing a full face of makeup until late in HS.  Then, in college, I adopted the "rolled-out-of-bed" look for awhile and didn't wear any (well, maybe still the mascara... as I said, freaky without it!). LOL

  • I started wearing small amounts in the 6th grade (at 12).

BTW - You are gorgeous!   There's nothing like natural beauty! ;)
