I didn't *really* start wearing make up until I was 24.
Even now, I'm not reallly into it like that. I do my eyes up sometimes but unless DH and I are going somewhere, I skip the powder and blush.
As long as my brows are neat and I don't have eye boogers, I'm good. LOL
Re: SO, when did you start wearing make up?
I started with lip gloss and mascara at around 12 or 13.
I added more as I got older and by high school would wear a full face every day (foundation, blush, eye shadow, liner, mascara, and gloss).
Now, I won't leave the house without at least powder and mascara.
I think I look scary without something on my face...
I wore a very small amount in the last year of high school. Basically just enough to cover (or attempt to cover) my acne.
While in college I wore full out make-up everyday... but I don't think I've put on any make-up since graduation back in January. I just couldn't be bothered.
I started around 8 or 9 ONLY because I have psoriasis and it was on my face so my mom taught me out to use cover up to hide it. I didnt do eyes etc... it was just to cover up.
Blush and a litttle eye shadow when I was like 14...
Around 16 doing anything I wanted (with in reason ha).
My mom took me to get a "lesson" when I was 13 and she took me to get some light natural make-up. I don't remember if I wore it every day.
I wore full face in high school mainly because my acne was bad.
Now I will wear it some days and not other days. It's mostly very light. I think as long as I am not tired I look pretty good without make-up on.
:: Lurking from 3rd Tri :: I still don't really wear make-up! I wore clear gloss and blush sometimes before I got pregnant, but that's it. I don't wear any now and the only time I wore a full face of make-up was for my wedding. I just don't want to be one of those people who just have to wear it or they look hideous! Luckily, I don't have bad skin to begin with!
On another note, have you seen Oprah w/o make-up?? Not a pretty sight! Lol
I was 15 and remember I wouldn't leave the house without a "full face".
It stayed that way up until 2 years ago when I just didn't have the energy anymore before work.
Now I only wear make up if I'm going out.... and it is usually just bronzer, eye shadow and eye liner.
8th grade. I had pretty bad acne, starting in 5th grade, until I went on Accutane as a junior in high school. Boys I had crushes on in middle school routinely rejected me because I "had pimples", so I begged my mom to let me start wearing make-up in 8th grade and she finally relented.
While it definitely made my skin look better, I also managed to develop a major self-confidence problem based around wearing make-up. I remember overhearing a comment from a boy I liked after I started wearing make-up in 8th grade, where he said "well, she's kinda pretty when she has make-up on". It really affected me. I wouldn't leave the house without make-up on for a long, looooong time. I'm fine without wearing make-up now, but I was uncomfortable without make-up on until I was about 23 or 24.
BUT, at least I'm REALLY good at doing my make-up now! Friends ask me to do theirs for them all the time! Life skills.
Bwahahaha! You hit the nail on the head with that one!

Started wearing lip gloss and a little powder when I was 13.
Went into full-on makeup by 16
Quit wearing makeup except for special occasions (about once or twice a year) at 26 or 27.
I just don't care. I look fine without makeup and not a whole lot of people in my circle of friends wear makeup, so I'm not the odd-man-out, so to speak. I do have a wicked addiction to my Burt's Bees lip balm, though.

I started wearing small amounts in the 6th grade (at 12).
