We know far too many people IRL who are dealing or have dealt with IF. (Thankfully, most of them are now success stories.)
This morning one of my daycare providers explained that she was having so many doctor's appointments because she's having trouble TTC. When I said I understood because I had to see an RE too, she told me that one of the other moms also had went through treatments. So of the five kids they care for, at least two of them are "success after IF" babies.
Makes me sad. I especially feel for anyone going through IF while working a child/baby-oriented job. I hope my DCP's IF journey is brief.
Re: IF is way too common
It really is and so sad. I used to look around the packed waiting room at the RE's office and think, wow- who is left to get pregant without help!? I know so many people IRL that have or are dealing with IF.
My sister dealt with IF- had twins with Clomid, after loosing a baby at 20 weeks. In my old office there was 8 of us who dealt with IF, in my husbands office there were 10 girls that were struggling to get pregnant, and in my new office there is a few who can't get pregnant, one girl just adopted and I am SO happy for her.
It's amazing how many people struggle- leads me to think there has to be something environmentally that is causing this.
I agree! While going through IF I taught/and still do-in an inner city school and it made me soooo bitter seeing so many horrible parents who sure had no trouble getting pregant! If I didn't get PG I'm sure I would've quit teaching. I bet it is ever harder for DCP's
