For real why do people say this (or vice versa)? Ive seen about 5 people on FB recently who are pregnant (with boys) or just had a baby boy and have NOTHING to say but how happy they are its a boy and not a girl. I guess Im just sensitive and Im very happy they don't have a girl either bc that would suck if they did
right? How would you feel if you knew your mom was really sad that you were a girl and not a boy or vice versa? Its just strange to me to be THAT vocal about it....hello they are babies and are blessings so shut it people...lol. Okay vent over.

Re: Soooo over people saying how happy they are they don't have girls....
I tease my cousin about how much harder her baby girl is going to be compared to Miles...but that is ONLY teasing and she knows it. I'm never serious. They both come with their challenges...and GREAT rewards on both sides of the fence.
I guess we all have a different perspective because we're sooooooo thrilled to have ANY baby at all. We understand that it's a gift and not something you're just entitled to because you're human.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE having girls!!! I wouldn't mind if that's all I had, if I have 6 more they could all be girls!
I would love a boy, but this momma doesn't care, I would take all girls! So much fun and so damn cute... and oh the shopping:)
Having boys would save my credit cards:)

I think people must not realize how statements like that sound to some of their hundreds of "friends" on facebook. lol. Reasons I'm happy to be having a boy:
1. Because it's a boy.
2. Because the tiny clothes with ruffles send me in a tizzy. It would be more expensive because I would be shopping like a fiend!
3. I think boys might be easier on each other in school.
I would not post anything like "soooo happy it's not a girl". Because it sounds so incredibly insulting.
That's so rude, I hope no one is saying that directly to you!
I am over people acting disappointed that I'm not having a girl. People are like :"aw, maybe next time". Um, hello, I am so happy about having another baby and it's cool if it's a boy! Like if I don't have a girl it's the end of the world. Grrrr. People are dumb, I'm so sorry.
yep i agree. i'm having a girl this time around and i'm sick of everyone telling me how hard it's going to be. why do girls have such a bad rap!? i was a great daughter! lol
but yeah for a parent to say that is kind of dumb.

Interesting......I actually hear the opposite.
I hear (and know) A LOT of girls who are very upset that they don't have girls.......I never, ever hear people say they are upset that they don't have boys. Everyone I know wants girls.
I even find that on here more people respond to "Its a Girl!" posts.....yes, I watch this a lot since I have 2 boys.
I feel that most people are much more upset about finding out its a boy, versus a girl.

I hate it too! One of the reasons I didn't find out the gender with Carly was because I just couldn't deal with the oh, no, another girl, I'm sorry comments. When I was pg, I almost went off on FIL when he said he wanted to give his Army medals to the baby "if it's a boy." I just looked at him and said maybe your granddaughters would like that too.
I saw a friend for the first time in 5 years a few weeks ago. She has a 1 yr old son. She sat in the back of my van (with my 2 girls in front of her) and went on and on about how she is so glad she doesn't have a girl to raise and how difficult they are as teenagers. I found that incredibly rude and looking back I wish I had said something.
I also think that people asking me if I want a boy next time, demeans my 2nd daughter. Like Carly wasn't what I wanted because I already had a girl. I cannot imagine life without her!
Of course I would like to have a son, but I would never say I really want my next baby to be a boy because if that baby is a girl, I never want her to hear that her mother wished she was something else. It makes me so sad for the babies that I do hear that about.
And yay for sisters!!!
I think this is true. We have all boys on my husbands side of the family, hasn't been a girl born in 40-some years. I don't mind one way or another if we have all boys, but I know my sisters-in-law seem to overcompensate when it comes to having all boys, and go overboard when listing the "pros" of having boys. It can definitely come off the wrong way!
I completely agree. I actually think that the people who are saying that are likely trying to make themselves feel better about having a boy. They're trying to convince themselves and argue for the benefits of a boy over a girl and don't want to admit that they actually wanted a girl. I have a SIL like this... She had 4 boys and simply would NOT admit that she was secretly wanting a girl all along... And then she had a girl. You'd think that girl hung the moon based on how she acts! (And now of course, she's finally "done.")
DH and I would have loved to have one girl.... I'm mostly sad we don't have one b/c he will never get his daddy's girl and I have 3 mama's boys.... but all in all we are thrilled with our 3 boys.
I joke with people how i'm glad they are not girls- b/c of how hard it would be to have 3 girls this close in age when they are teenagers... but i would never flat out say "i'm so glad my babies are boys - girls suck" type of things on FB! Yikes- people are idiots.
My sister has one of each. One day when my(then) 5 yr old niece was having a wining fest (aka- "It's not faiiirrrrrr!") for whatever reason, my sister looked at me (I was pg at the time) and said "Be glad you are having a boy. Everything in your house may be broken (my nephew loves to take things apart and examine them) but at least you don't have to deal with drama".
