Success after IF

I knew it was too good to be true.

I just got my beta from yesterday.  21 at 12 dpo.  : (  What's strange is that I have taken a lot of hpts since I started getting positives and they have gotten progressively darker and haven't really been faint at all in the past 2-3 days.  I was sure that my beta would be okay, but I was wrong.  What I was worried about was my progesterone, and that is good at 34.

I guess we'll see what my beta is tomorrow.  If I'm going to miscarry I'd like to go ahead and get it over with.

Great timing because I'm leaving on vacation in a few days.

I guess this wasn't our time.

  • I know it isn't the # you wanted - but I really wouldn't even worry! That is SO early!!  Betas that early do strange things, and your p4 is nice and high!

I will be praying for you - please don't give up hope yet!

And it isn't like IVF - you aren't sure exactly when you ovulated...you could be closer (in hours) to 11 dpo, right?

  • Ah, I'm so sorry. Of course we need to see that 2nd beta....

but you could have a case of your pee not getting the message until last. I'm totally convinced this is medically the reason for seeing lines early, then getting low betas. That pee doesn't know what's going until later.... so you've got implanting going on, POAS picks it up, implantation halts, and the POAS doesn't register it yet.   A gal had this just last week, I can try to find the post. And it SURE makes sense in my bajillion early losses too.

    I'm sorry, this sucks.

had this just last week, I can try to find the post.

That was me.  The day I m/c my beta was 16, but I was still getting a faint line on HPT.  Threw me off b/c I thought they only picked up 20ml minimum (or more, depending on the test).  Not that I believe I was pg - I knew I had m/c but I just didn't get the discrepancy.

Anyway, cmw, I don't know a lot about betas but I hope yours climbs and this pg sticks!!

    LO #1 - 1 unmedicated/self-monitored IUI w/ donor sperm.
    LO #2 - 1 m/c, 2 BFNs, 4th IUI worked (unmedicated/self-monitored with new donor sperm).
    Life is beautiful!

  • You aren't out of the game yet!!  My beta was taken at 15 dpo and it was 90.  So, that means at 11 dpo it was somewhere around 22.  Your p4 is fantastic, too.  Hang in there, I know that 48 hours feels like an eternity!

  • I'm holding out hope for your next beta... Hope the wait passes quickly and you get a good rise!!! Hugs!!
  • 12 dpo is still pretty early for a beta, so I would not stress too much about the "low" number.

I would just see how your betas do
