My DH and I have been TTC for almost 2 years. We are both 35 yo. We have just started the process of fertility help. My DH had 2 sperm tests done. The first came back okay. The count was low, but overall he had super swimmers, so we didn't worry.  The second test came back very poor and we were referred to a Urologist who we see next week.  I've had several rounds of blood work, all of which have returned "okay"...with the exception of this last one I had this morning with an internal ultrasound. The nurse was very peppy and happy to start, then as she counted my cysts she was very quiet. I asked..."We are okay right??" She mentioned she should normally see 7, but only found 5.  She mentioned the blood tests would take a week to get back and that she would call me and we would talk then.  It's not like me to leave a situation like that without asking whats the deal....but I guess it really caught me off guard.  Anyone else have a situation like this?  Maybe I'm just a little sensitive today....not sure.

    I do think sperm test can vary. My dh has had many and they are always generally okay but the first one he had low volume so he did a repeat and they said everything was perfect.  Then he has slow movement, then one was fine.  So I wouldn't worry too much about that.  Not sure about the cysts - I would think you wouldn't want to see any.

    I agree with pp (previous post) about the SAs (sperm analysis) varying...the hubs has had a few and they have all come back with different levels of one kind or another...anything small like that.

    And...I'm guessing your dr. was counting follicles (not cysts), right?  I don't know if there is supposed to be a certain amount -- not sure why you were told there should be 7.  GL!!

    i agree with both pps, they are probably looking at follicles?

    My DH has horrible sperm and he took Fertil aid 2x a day and it improved a little!?
