Anybody watch Housewives of NYC?
A lady I'm taking some maternity pics of tomorrow (not a professional...just playing around...so no I'm not pimping a biz here) said she's really excited and recorded the episode where Bethenny gets her maternity pics taken.
I have no idea what that means. I just use natural light...and she wants them in her house...so I'll be limited. So I'm a little scared that she's expecting some amazing photographer who can pull shots out of her arse. I'm not that girl. (She is a friend of a co-worker of mine...)
Did you see that episode? What were the photos like? She's mentioned some "sexy" photos. Not sure exactly what she has in mind.

You can go on Bravotv.com I believe and watch the episode. It wasn't on RHONY and was on Bethenny getting married! honestly they weren't anything great! She was in her underwear with her chest being covered by her arms or how she was laying down. It appears to me Bethenny has no issue being naked around anyone. So if this lady was topless pictures you might want to prepare yourself for this!
I took some topless of my co-worker. (I know crazy, right?!) It was awkward as hell, but I got through it. This lady did prepare me by saying she wanted some "sexy" pics. So I am prepared, although still dreading it. I went there and watched the clip of the episode where they took the photos. I'm not as nervous about the actual photos turning out good now...assuming she's got great windows.

I bet she wants that "from the head POV" shot - it's tricky to do right, just move all around and try a bunch of different angles. Have her laying next to a large window if possible - what cha got for lenses? crank that baby down to 2.8 and up the ISO a bit. If you meter right off her head, you might be able to pull it off. But you're going to need a wide enough lens to not limb chop. It's tricky at that angle.

I have a 50mm 1.8 and the kit lens. I rarely use the kit lens though. Thanks for the tips! I always take a ton of shots from a ton of different angles and usually get a few goodies. I did some from the head of my co-worker too and they turned out good, but there was some limb choppage...so I'll have to be more careful this time. I'm praying for large windows...her house is massive and in a fancy-pants neighborhood so hopefully it'll be fine.

Your post reminds me of when I worked at pregnancy home (it was for teens and young moms who were kicked out when they family found out they were pregnant) well a weekend volunteer offered to take maternity photos! Two of the girls want your normal run of the mill maternity photos! 3 other girls wanted "sexy" ones! I had the joy (more like torture) of walking inthe room during one of those girls shot! OMG I freaked out the girl was BUTT naked with her legs spread said she was sending her boyfriend in jail so "sexy preggo mama" pictures for him to have fun with! I was sick! The pictures were processed in the volunteers own studio and I saw all the pictures! I was disgusted at what these girls were doing! Keep in mind those 3 girls were all either strippers, hookers, or in gang at one point in there life!
