Nickname Question

Hi Everyone,

We found out last week that we're having another girl! We are leaning towards the name Elizabeth (after my grandmother) and I wanted to get some input on nicknames. We are leaning toward something a little less traditional like Libby or Ellie. Any thoughts/recommendations?

I have to be honest, I love love love the nickname lizzy for elizabeth.. but I think ellie is cute, too.

I like them both. I also like the more traditional nicknames for Elizabeth, for the most part. Just fyi -- I have a feeling (you'd have to look it up) that those non-traditional formations are actually becoming much more popular now. I feel like I've seen Libby and Ellie or Ella around a lot recently. So if your goal is to try to be different, you should look into it and make sure. They're really great regardless, though!

I think Lizbeth is super adorable, and not that common.

I also like Izzy, but Ellie is cute too. Maybe just wait until you see her, you may find that you come up with a nickname naturally.

My mother-in-law's given name is Elizabeth and goes by Betty. A little old fashioned, but it fits her. I've also known Elizabeths who only go by Elizabeth. There's also just Beth, which I like because it's my sister's name. With nicknames, you just never know what will "stick". My dad has called me Shortcake my whole life. lol
