XP: I think we're officially done with nursing

DD will be 2 next week (8/8) and had been down to nursing before naps and bed, up until about 2 weeks ago.  Lately she's just been nursing before bed....and tonight I was able to get her in bed w/o nursing at all (even though she put up a 30 second fuss).

Happy to be done?  Hell Yes...absolutely.  Bittersweet....definitely, she's not a baby anymore (and we're one and done)........kind of breaks my heart.  I am SO proud of her though!

    You should be proud of yourself too. That is a huge accomplishment! I imagine weaning is going to be very bittersweet for me as well. (((HUGS)))

    Good job momma!!! I didn't even realize you were still nursing!! btw- yes she is getting big and it freaks ME out! lol

    Amazing job, mama!!!  That is a wonderful accomplishment!  I SO wanted to go two years, but pumping at work got to be way to stressful so we stopped at 13 months.  I totally get the bittersweet factor.  GREAT job!

    Thanks!  She just asked to nurse again and I reminded her that it was for babies, not big girls and then asked if she was a baby or a big girl.  She said, "I big girl!"  and dropped it after that.

    I do the same thing...but then he says he is a baby and looks at me and says "Mama's milk'.  He has no shame admitting he is still a baby!  So the big boy thing doesn't really work in this house.  But I don't mind it that much...just need to be done by the time my FET is here on 9/2.
