Movement ?

I have felt absolutely nothing :(  Not even a flutter or bubble as some call it.  I feel my belly all  the time hoping I will feel something going on in there.  I know I shouldn't be worrying about it, but I am....first time mom and all, I have no idea what to expect out of a pregnancy.  Anyone else with no movement yet?

Re: Movement ?

  • I felt early, my friend didn't feel anything until 23 almost 24 weeks. I am a third time mother, she is a first. I think you probably got some kicks, the early ones are just a little bit more difficult to distinguish, because they can sometimes feel like gas, a spasm, or even a twitch. I know my other friend from work said hers felt like a little summersault. I guess it depends on the person. But don't worry, you'll feel somethin when you least expect it

Try to drink some juice, or something with a little sugar in it, and lay on your left side ( or however your comfy. ) just concentrate on your tummy and maybe you'll feel a flutter or two.

  • I only started feeling it within the last week.  I just had an appt today and the Dr. told me my placenta is in front, so movement would feel more muffled.  Hang in there!

  • I didn't really start feeling solid kicks until 19 weeks.

You could also possibly have an anterior placenta.  Women with that typically don't feel anything until later.

  • I haven't been feeling much movement and I'm already 20.5 weeks.  I've felt flutters and other random movements here and there, but nothing super obvious and definitely nothing that I can feel from the outside.  When we saw LO on the ultrasound last week, he was moving all over the place, so I guess I'm just not feeling it yet for whatever reason.  I'm hoping I feel more soon!

  • You could have an anterior placenta, like PP said. I found out I have a posterior placenta at my anatomy scan, which could explain why I started feeling my first flutters around 15 weeks.

Also, are you very athletic? If you have strong abdominal muscles, that would also prevent you from feeling movement.

I'm sure you'll be feeling your baby in no time!!
