Parenting after a Loss

Night #2 of awful sleep.

I don't need sleep to function right?

Re: Night #2 of awful sleep.

  • I'm awake with you! DS woke up crying about 15 minutes ago because he peed right through his clothes and sheets.  Ugh. I bet he would have gone back to bed otherwise.  The worst part is, I can't get a new sheet on it - I managed to hurt myself in about 5 different ways trying to put it on (probably because I'm so tired) and finally gave up and am just playing with DS (or rather, letting him play while I attempt to wake myself up..) until DH gets up and will put the sheet back on.

It's been a long time since he's peed through anything. Time for bigger diapers possibly...

  • DS is just now asleep after his 3:30 wake-up. Now I have to decide if I should wake him to have some semblance of structure to my day or call it already.

  • Did she scream all night again?  What happened?  And how was she before bedtime yesterday?  I'm sorry :(

Yeah, screaming again.  I'm at a loss.  She was fine all day as usual.  Then she goes to bed like normal but wakes up about 3-4 hours later (around 10:30-11) not crying but screaming at the top of her lungs.  I let her CIO and she fell back asleep after 30 min or so.  Then an hour later, screaming again - let her CIO and about 30 min later she fell asleep.  around 3:30 she's screaming again only CIO isn't working.  After 30 min I go in and try to rock her back to sleep.  The same thing as the night before, she doesn't want to be held, she doesn't want her pacifier, nothing seems to help.  I try the tylenol and orajel and that helps a bit but she still wouldn't go back to sleep and was still crying.  No temp, rash, anything.  Around 5 DH gets up and stays with her until 6 at which point we both just decide to get up for the day.

At that point we put her down on the floor and she is miss happy playing with her toys.  By the time I get her to daycare around 7:30-8 she is sleepy and looks like she needs a nap.  Any thoughts?

That's the worst because you know he would have still been sleeping had he not peed through everything.  Are you using overnight diapers?  We use the Fisher Price ones only have had leaks maybe 4 times since she was 4 months old.  Just recently we bought a pack of huggies overnights and we have leaks with those way more often.

Ugh - I'm sorry.  I have no idea.  I hope she does better tonight!
