Success after IF

I'm in early labor...

According to my doc. Nothing imminent but I am having contractions about every 3 minutes but not horribly painful. I'm supposed to call if they get stronger. I am far enough along that they are not going to stop my labor at this point. THAT SAID, Doc says that this could last for WEEKS so I could still make it a little longer, they just think that things will be sooner rather than later at this point. I never really experienced labor with Trig because they gave me an epidural REALLY early to bring my blood pressure down so I am a little scared and I feel like I don't know what I'm doing! I'll keep you guys updated :)

  • Good luck!!!

Are you too far along for the steroid shots, or will you be getting them as a precaution?  (Or did you already get them, I can't remember?)

Apparently, at 34 weeks, they stop giving steroid shots. So, if I get to the hospital tonight, they would give them to me, but if it's tomorrow, they won't :)

according to research, at this point, it could be more dangerous to stop labor than just to let him deliver - I had a long discussion with the doc about what point we would just let things progress.

  • I'm sorry you're in early labor.  I hope your LO hangs on at least a few more weeks! I will keep you and LO in my thoughts.

  • I hope everything goes well, whether it's soon or not.  And your doctor's plan sounds like the same thing I was told.  My peri and OB both said once I hit 34 weeks that they wouldn't stop labor, and two days later, there it was.  34 weekers will need some NICU time, but all things being equal, they're perfectly healthy and shouldn't have any lasting preemie issues.  It's still nerve-wracking, though.  Hang in there!
  • Hang in there sweetie!  Good luck!
  • Best of luck hon - if it is tonight, tomorrow, or in a few weeks!  Hang in there!

Well, I hope you can him in there a little longer and you aren't too uncomfortable.

  • Thinking of you and hoping you dont have to deal with contractions too long.  These contractions can be tricky, at 32 weeks I was having regular contractions that were changing my cervix and I wasnt feeling them at all.  Hopefully yours continue to be mild until it's really time.  Good luck!
