2nd Trimester

I guess I'm getting my previous c/s scar fixed

I honestly didn't think there was anything wrong it, but my OB looked at it today and said, "oh man, I'm so sorry I'll fix that with this c/s, cut out the old scar and sew it up differently." Apparently when it healed it was suppose to lie flat but mine healed raised (it has a name, and the ob told me but I already forgot. oops, lol).

It never bothered me and I never saw it as an eye sore but I guess it'll be nice not to have to shave over a little bump anymore, lol.

Just kind of a random post, I figured nobody would really care IRL so I'd post it on here  : )

Re: I guess I'm getting my previous c/s scar fixed

  • A keloid scar. I have a giant one too, and it really doesn't bother me (how it looks, anyway), except its a pain to shave around. I hope mine turns out better the second time around too, but I tend to keloid very easily.

    A keloid scar.

    Yes! That's it : )

  • I have about an 8 inch scar going up the middle of my belly and around my belly button (I had a very large cyst removed along with an ovary a couple years back) and it is raised and ugly but I'm not really a bikini type so it doesn't bother me. Anyways, the point is that when you said yours was a pain to shave around it reminded me that usually I don't have to worry about that (since its all a belly scar) but latley my hormones have been so out of wack that I've got a lot more hair growing around it and it IS a pain to shave around. So, Good for you! I'm glad your doctor is thinking of you! :)
  • Mine Keloided also, although not too bad.  I have other scars that keloided also.  It is below any decent undies that I might ever wear so I don't mind so much, but if my doctor could fix it why not!
  • i wonder if i could ask my doctor to fix  mine..... and maybe take a little extra while at it..... hehe.

good to know that im not the only bumpy one out there. i actually have a twist in mine. 1 doc sewed up 1 side and another doc sewed up the other. i hate it!!!!!

    good luck with yours!

I don't have a twist, but mine was sewn off by about half an inch, my linea nigra became two!  hehe!

  • I have a keloid scar as well from emergency surgery at 7 weeks prego. It's vertical and runs from under my belly button down to my pelvic bone. Ob has discussed an injection when I go to deliver (if vag) or if I have Csectn will follow the line and redo. Ever since my appointment I have been thinking that I would rather just go ahead and get the csectn. It's not for cosmetic purposes but the feel/texture bothers me. I also have to wear granny panties and it's super itchy!

Anyways, glad I am not alone in this..

That happened to me too.  It kind of annoyed me--I was like, you didn't line me up right!  LOL

  • My keloided too.  My dr. told me that he will use staples this time instead of stitches.  He told me the stitches take about 100 days to dissolve, giving your body time to reject them as a foreign object.  The staples will be removed before i leave the hospital and the wound bandaged up which will hopefully prevent the nasty scar.  Mine drives me crazy.  Its so itchy and sometimes the nerve endings under it "zap" me.  I can't wear any cute panties either cause the waist sits right on top of the scar.
