determining gender at anatomy scan

Hi Ladies! 

We had our anatomy scan last Friday (at 18 wks 5 days) and the tech told us that she was 90% sure it is a girl!  Crazy, considering I was convinced it was a boy!!  We are both super excited, but we both keep wondering if we should ask for another sonogram.  While the tech did say that she was 90% sure, she also said that the position the baby was in made it very difficult to tell for sure.  What do y'all think?  Is 90% surety enough, or should I request another scan?

    You could ask, but it's not likely your insurance will cover it unless your doctor says it's medically necessary and determining the gender doesn't really count. You might be better off trying one of the 3D u/s places, I've seen ladies say they have reasonable prices.

    My doctor's office charges $100 for an elective u/s to determine sex. Not everyone gets the anatomy scan at my doctor so they would pay for the elective u/s if they wanted it.

    Thanks ladies!!! 

     I will talk to my doc and see if our insurance will cover an elective sonogram.  :)
