S/O Tivo....how much do you rely on yours?

Are you an active Tivo-er? I know DH and I have weekly shows that we take on a daily basis so that we can watch our shows kid & commercial free...our faves include but are not limited to:

Hells Kitchen, Rookie Blues, Last Comic Standing, Big Break, WipeOut, Chopped, Castle, The Mentalist, PTI, Around the Horn, Greys Anatomy/ Private Practice.

Shows, movies, you name it. I love not feeling tied to the tv just because I have a favorite show.

DH is also a crazy DVR monitor and will get nervous when our free space gets too low.

If I dont get my Leverage, So You Think You Can Dance, or Next Food Network Star, I can go postal, so its safer to have that stuff DVRed. I also have to have Mentalist, Lie to Me, Glee, and a few other shows. DH only requests Legend of the Seeker which I dont care for, and even he doesnt always watch it.

I don't know how I functioned before Tivo. Besides DHs many sci-fi shows, we also use it for NASCAR races (yeah, laugh it up), True Blood, I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant, 16 and Pregnant, all of Giada's shows on the Food Network, and various Discovery and History Channel shows.

between DH's UFC and Oz and my Top Chef, Gilmore Girls, Dog the Bounty Hunter we can never watch everything we want to because stuff overlaps.

DH is our monitor as well...I told him if he didnt tape so much damn golf we would be fine! And ::hangs head:: I have to admit the kids have their own Tivo box... That way if there is a movie or a series that they like we can use it to our advantage...like... Get your room cleaned up then you can watch the new....Ben Ten or what ever it is that they like. It helps us regulate their TV time...(That's my story and I am sticking to it!)

During prime seasonal shows we live by them... These summer shows are harder though... I've been trying to delete a bunch of shows but we regularly watch...

It's me or the dog, Bones, Top shot, Pawn stars, Pretty Little Liars, Psych, Gossip Girl, NCIS and NCIS:LA, Supernatural, Fringe, and the Vampire Diaries, The Mentalist... yeah I like some stupid shows...

I LOVE our TiVo. I actually am a TiVo snob, because I prefer the TiVo interface to the crappy cable company DVR.

We don't watch a ton of TV (actually canceled our cable), but shows we do like are: Project Runway (thank goodness for online shows!), Big Bang Theory, This Old House, Antique's Roadshow, Modern Family, and So You Think You Can Dance.

And I have a number of PBS kids shows recorded for when I'm losing my mind and need a 30 minute sanity break.

We use our PVR for Nascar races too!! Only problem is they always go over (have to tape at least two shows after, just in case) and they take up so much room. Going away to Europe for two weeks filled the entire thing!!
