Conversion kits?

DH and I ordered our crib yesterday (yay!) but totally spaced on the getting the conversion kit.

Did you purchase it at the same time as the crib, or did you get it when you needed it?

If we were to wait until we needed it, do you think there would be a chance that it's discontinued, or are conversion kits pretty universal?

    We bought our conversion kit when we bought the crib, for the reason being that we didn't know if it would be available when we would want it. We also have the space to store it, so it wasn't a big deal to us. If space is at a premium then I think you could wait a little while longer, or not get at all.

    I went ahead and bought the conversion kit with the crib just in case it becomes unavailable.  As a bonus, it was on sale for a whopping $35 (normally $100).  =)

    We bought it all in one fell swoop. Crib, dresser, conversion kit, and toddler rail. The boxes for the kit and rail are usually long and thin, so not that hard to store. Even if the crib doesn't get discontinued, sometimes the colors/styles do.
