Anyone else have that song that just makes your think about your LO? Personally, I have "that" song, and I cry every time I hear it. For me, it's Tim McGraw Live Like You Were Drying. Just wondering about you all?
The part that gets me every time is the beginning...
"And a moment came that stopped me on a dime.
I spent most of the next days,
Looking at the x-rays,
And talking about the options and talkin? about sweet time
I asked him when it sank in,
That this might really be the real end?
How?s it hit you when you get that kind of news?"
Re: Does anyone else have "that" song?
For me it's Sugarland's Love your baby girl. The chorus ends with the lines:
well this time I'm gonna make our dreams come true.
well I love you more than anything in the world,
Love your baby girl
It really gets to me everytime.
For me and DH it's Michael Buble's Haven't Met You Yet. Definitely a tear jerker every time I hear it.
I might have to wait, I'll never give up
I guess it's half timing, and the other half's luck
Wherever you are, whenever it's right
You'll come out of nowhere and into my life
And I know that we can be so amazing
And, baby, your love is gonna change me
And now I can see every possibility
And somehow I know that it'll all turn out
You'll make me work, so we can work to work it out
And I promise you, kid, I give so much more than I get
I just haven't met you yet
This song does it for me every time I hear it. It actually caused my first ever over emotional pregnancy hormone cryfest. It came on when I was on the way to work and I just started bawling in my car. I had to go to work that am with gloppy mascara and a the sniffles.
For some reason, the song "Knock You Down" by Keri Hilson has caused me to cry ever since I heard it on the radio in the first trimester... I feel silly as I'm sobbing and then the Kanye West rap part comes on, because it has nothing to do with my LO, but the Keri and Nelly parts get me really emotional for some reason. Feel free to laugh at me
"I never thought I'd be in love like this
When I look at you my mind goes on a trip
Then you came in and knocked me on my face
Feels like I'm in a race but I already won first place
I never thought I fall for you as hard as I did (as hard as I did, yeah)
You got me thinking about our life, our house and kids (Yeah)
Every morning I look at you and smile
Cause boy you came around and you knocked me down (knocked me down)"
I Knew I Loved You by Savage Garden. It's a love song really, but years and years ago I went to the mother/daughter brunch with my Mom at the school she taught in at the time. They had a slide show of all the little girls and their moms, and they played this song during the show. I never would have thought of it that way, but now I only associate it with a mom loving her child.
I knew I loved you before I met you
I think I dreamed you into life
I knew I loved you before I met you
I have been waiting all my life
"Gracie" by Ben Folds. It is about his daughter. My niece is named Gracie and we are obviously not naming our LO that (such a pretty name, though) but this song seriously can be a tear jerker.
Especially if you are having a girl - you should give it a listen!!!
You can?t fool me
I saw you when you came out
You got your momma?s taste
But you got my mouth
You will always have a part of me
Nobody else is ever gonna see
Gracie girl
With your cards to your chest
Walking on your toes
What you got in the box
Only Gracie knows
And I would never try to make you be
Anything you didn?t really wanna be
Gracie girl
Life flies by in seconds
You?re not a baby
Gracie, you?re my friend
You?ll be a lady soon
But until then
You gotta do what I say
You nodded off in my arms watching TV
I won?t move you an inch
Even though my arm?s asleep
One day you?re gonna wanna go
I hope we taught you everything
You need to know
Gracie girl
There will always be a part of me
Nobody else is ever gonna see
But you and me
A little girl
My Gracie girl
AND thanks for making me cry at work.
I love this song. It's Michael Buble-Just Haven't Met You Yet for me too, and even though I'm having a boy I still love Gracie by Ben Folds!!
Keep up with me @ Koala Fuzz
Whenever I hear "there goes my life" by Kenny Chesney I think of DH and our LO. I can't wait to see them together as she grows up.
