I've been looking for newborn photographers, too, and I looked at the websites for the photographers you mentioned but WOW they are expensive! I'm not talking about the session fee - $200ish dollar seems reasonable for a session. But then $600 for the digital files? Or $100 per image? That seems really high! Anyone know any (decent) photographers with more reasonable prices?

I LOVE Amy!!! Check out her website. We did not do newborn pics since I didn't find her (on Craigslist believe it or not!)until my youngest was almost 1. We have used her 4 times since April. My girls and both sides of my family are all over her website!!
We just got proofs from my oldest and my nieces 4th bday session. They are fantastic.
If you use her make sure to give Caras name. She was actually one of my referrals and she gives credits to people who refer her.

I feel the same way. I am hoping to find a photographer where I would own the rights to the pictures. $600 for the digital files is ridiculous. A friend of mine just found a photographer who did everything for $350. She just had a baby so I haven't heard back from her on who it was that she used.
Nicole Renee was acutally really reasonable. I can't remember exactly how much we paid, but it was less than $250 for EVERYTHING...session fee, and then all of the digital prints.
If you have Facebook, look at Freckle Photography's FB page as it has some phenomenal baby pictures and is more up to date than the gallery on the main site. Also the blog has the latest and greatest baby pictures.
This woman did our wedding and we have had random strangers who can view our FB album writing to us and telling us how much they love her work. You can purchase the CD of all the edited pictures and it comes with a label on the front giving you copyright to reprint the images. Or if you get a large enough package it just comes with the package.
We are getting a package that includes maternity shoot, homebirth shoot, newborn photos, two other shoots during the first year and 1st birthday.

For Evelyn's newborn pictures I used Jen Lowe. She is awesome, and I would have used her no matter what, but apparently her prices are also amazing.
I paid $275 and I got a 2 hour session (actually closer to 3, because the baby was asleep when she first got ot the house and we had to stop to eat!). I got a 4x6 copy of all the images (almost 200) and a DVD with a high resolution copy of all the images so that I can print them myself.
I forgot that she added the new specials for newborn pics. I wish I knew someone close who was pregnant because the package is a good deal and a great gift idea.
