Update 2: We made it in about 8:00 -- longest drive to Dallas ever and missed visiting hours so I will see him tomorrow morning before the surgery.  He is sedated but stable right now.

Update: He had blockage & they put in stints. Afterward, while in ICU, his heart stopped again & they shocked him back. Tomorrow morning he will get a pacemaker put in. Meanwhile, we are still driving. 4 accidents so far that have brought traffic to a standstill plus lots of showers off & on. And to top it off, our car is not running well. DH thinks it has to do with the transmission, so we have to take it in tomorrow if we make it. Ugh!

 

This morning my dad went into cardiac arrest while my parents were driving to Oklahoma.  My mom (who was driving thankfully) noticed he was breathing heavily and then gurgling and then he passed out.  Fortunately she had just passed a hospital in Denison, so she got off the highway, turned around and sped to the ER.  They had to do CPR on him but they were able to stabilize him.  He has not been conscious yet due to the medication they gave him to put the tube in his throat, so we still aren't sure if he is going to be okay.  DH, DD and I are on our way up to Dallas to their house and then to Dension. He has been ill for for many years and is on the liver transplant list, but his heart has always been healthy.  I am trying not to think the worst and know he always pulls though even when the doctors don't think he will, but any dust, thoughts, prayers, etc. you can give my dad are greatly appreciated.
