  I did make them-- it was easier than I thought and I pretty much have no cake decorating skills.  The trick was to bake the cake in a metal mixing bowl to get the dome shape.  I copied the whole idea from a link that someone on here recomended which of course I can't remember now.  That was also the first time I used icing tips but all turned out well.
