I can't believe it! I am actually pregnant!

Hi all! My name is Laura and I am 41. Prince Charming (my husband Will) didn't come along until I was 38, and we got married at 40. We already knew that starting a family would be tricky, so we started proceedings for adoption, and also looked into fertility treatments (but, in Connecticut, after 39, insurance doesn't help out and $10K per pop is out of our budget). We tried to concieve naturally, but never really thought it would take because EVERYONE said that at 41... good luck. Well, here I am, starting my 5th week! I only found out that we were pregnant about 4 days ago, and already had a blood test that the doctor said was very good (HGC  = 229 miu/ml). Of course, I know things could be iffy the first time around, but I refuse to let all the negative thoughts hamper just how amazing it is that we're expecting.

I look forward to getting to know everyone here, and I am sure I will be leaning on you for advice often.
