Dumb question but when you go thru IF you are paranoid about everything...

But sex after IUI or in the 2WW is perfectly OK, right? The doc said it won't have any affect at this point of GETTING pregnant but I can for fun.

 I guess i  paranoid thinking it could affect implantation. I just had IUI yesterday and today.

so sorry if this is a super dumb question but like I said, going thru IF u get paranoid about every little thing you do!

    The rational part of me says of course it is ok-- women have sex all the time and still get pregnant...but the IF part of me doesn't really feel the same way.  Especially considering that when you do IVF you are told to not have sex or even an orgasm for 4-5 days after the transfer.  I feel like that means an orgasm can affect the embryo's ability to implant.

    I think it's normal to be paranoid. When we were pregnant we didn't have sex one time. I was too scared. I was even scared to orgasm at all when pregnant. If I get pregnant again, I'll also abstain. I also never once had caffeine, aspartame, lunch meat, soft cheese, et cetera. And got made fun of for it, but unless you've experienced the fear of never having a child, you can't understand. So I think that IF does make you very paranoid.

    My RE told us to do the BD the evening of my IUI and again the next morning to cover our bases around OV...I guess he didn't have any concerns!  We followed his "orders" as well as 2 evenings before the IUI.  I'd go with what your individual doctor said to do since he/she knows your situation better than I do.  GL either way! :)
