We need your help! I'm scheduled to be induced tomorrow morning, and we are still trying to decide on the spellings for the names we have chosen. Please let me know what you would pick.
Brendon John or Brendan John?
Alana Mae, Alaina Mae, or Alayna Mae?
For a girl, my husband likes Alana. My only concern is how would people pronounce this spelling? Would you pronounce the middle A like "baa" or as in "bay" - sorry, my imagination is not great right now so I don't know if that makes any sense!

Alana is pronounced different than Alaina/Alayna. The middle "a" in Alana sound like the word "can".
If you're going for the long "a" sound, I'd spell it Alaina Mae.

Alaina Mae. Alana will be pronounced UH-law-nuh. Alayna, with its random Y, makes the name look immature and childish. Alaina Mae is classic and elegant.

Alana is pronounced as Uh-lah-nuh. Alaina is Uh-lay-nuh. I knew an Alanah who pronounced it like Alaina, and no one ever pronounced it right.
If you want Uh-lay-nah, I really really think Elena is the best spelling. I know thats not what you asked though, so out of your spellings I like Alaina.

I prefer Brendan John & Alana Mae... however, I'd pronounce this name like "baa", so if you want it to be pronounced like "bay" you should go with the spelling Alayna.

IMO I think Brendan John looks better. Alana; I pronounce it A-lan-uh. Alaina: I like best. Alayna: I don't like the 'lay' part of it. Best wishes for a happy baby!!!

I would pronounce Alana as uh-LAWN-ah. The others as uh-LAYN-ah.
I would go with Alaina if you want that pronunciation.
