LO has a clogged eye duct-?

his doc said to massage the area in between his nose an eye an use a warm wash cloth to remove the gunk.

anything else i can try? seems to be getting worse

    Annalise's was absolutely GROSS for two days.  It looked like there was mustard pooled in the corner of her eye.  We used the drops that our pedi gave us and massaged.  It went away after those 2 days.

    my pedi said the best thing is time!  just watch the color to make sure it doesn't turn bright green (she said this could indicate infection).  with dd the gunk got worse before it got better, but the massaging really does help.

    its a whitish/yellowish color, is that ok? Or should I call for those drops?

    Our pedi didn't say anything except time.  But it has been getting worse, sometimes it turns red and sometimes the eye is noticeably smaller.  I massage it with a warm cloth.  I also read the a drop or two of breastmilk each time you nurse can clear it up. I did it twice and it helped but it sort of freaks me out. I'm thinking about calling to get drops.

     Eek. my son's is green. It was just in one eye, now both. Darn, hadnt started when we went for 10 day check up.

    We had to get some type of cream to get DD's to become unclogged.

    DD#1 is 3! And LO#2 is on his/her way! Due Feb 26th, 2014.

     

    BFP#1: EDD 5/7/2010 born on 5/20/2010. A little girl named Emily.  

    BFP#2: m/c 10/29/2012 EDD was 6/21/2012 Baby Hope was 6 weeks 3 days. 

    BFP#3: Twin B stopped growing at 8 weeks and 5 days. Found on 8/10/2014. EDD was 2/26/2014. Twin A is still doing great and due date is 2/26/14.

    I remember it got worse before it got better...it took about 2 days for his to clear up.  I would massage it with a warm wash cloth (inside to out) about 3-5 times a day.

    Our pedi gives it 9 months to clear up - DD's got worse then got better but it still gets gunky sometimes.  They said to just massage from the corner of her eye over the bridge of her nose.  They'll only prescribe medication if it's causing her eyes to stick shut.

    our LO has this right now too. our pedi said to massage and gave us an ointment to put on her eye 3 times a day. it seems to be getting a little better
