I am leaving to visit my parents on Tuesday, but my DH and I are not telling them I'm pg until he gets there on for the last 6 days of the trip...My parents live in a little tiny town in AK during the summer, where there are no stores and you can only get there by plane. I've been pretty lucky symptom wise so far (just exhaustion!), but am feeling queasy in the afternoons. I'm worried that I'll begin to get full blown m/s during the visit (I'll get to the 6 week mark while I'm there). I know everyone is different, but I was just checking to see if you guys can suggest anything I can bring to help out if I do get m/s. Any must-haves that I can bring with me?

Re: Any advice for a newbie?!
Morning sickness for me is morning sickness, afternoon sickness, evening sickness, night sickness. What has really helped is eating small portions often. My doctor told me to eat five small meals instead of three normal. But I found that if I just kinda lightly snack all day I'm even better off. For instance, when I get up, I'll have half a portion of cheerios, then an hour later have 4 saltines. Sprite and Ginger Ale have also been favorites for me.
Have fun on your trip! I hear Alaska is wonderful this time of year!
Thanks for the advice...what scares me is my father is big on fishing...here's to hoping I don't get m/s and have to suffer through a boat trip...ugh!!
I'm just hoping I'm not too obvious for the first week I'm there!!
Where in AK are you going? My DH lived in Seward, AK for 22 years.
M/S remedies: Preggie Pops, Ginger, Sea bands, Lemondrops, Lemonade, mints. The thing I tried in my first pregnancy that was a life saver was Unisom. Yes it is a sleeping pill but it also helps with the m/s. I took a 1/2 Unisom every night before bed. Help me sleep too.
MAYBE if your dad makes you go fishing you can say you have motion sickness rather than Morning sickness...lol
