Pregnant! Can I trust EPT?

Hi Everyone,

I introduced myself on the board a few weeks ago and had been struggling with starting IVF. I am 40 and my husband is 38. I had decided to wait until September and if not pregnant by then would go forward with the IVF. I just took an EPT digital test today (one day before my period) and it says I am pregnant. I was running around the house like a crazy person-could not believe it.

Do you think these tests are ever wrong when they say positive? I am just so excited but don't want to get too carried away if it could be wrong.

I have never seen or heard of a false positive, but you never know. I would take it as a good sign. I would test again tomorrow and even the next day and if they are all positive then I would think you are definitely pregnant.

Those tests are VERY accurate - especially the digital b/c they are less sensitive. So, HELL YES you are PG!! Congratulations!!!

It's my understanding that they almost never give a false positive. Congrats!

I don't generally use that particular brand, but I would say a BFP 1 day before missed period is pretty accurate. Being the crazy/anxious person I am, I would buy a few more (maybe different brands) and check again a few more time. Congratulations!

Thanks everyone! Starting to feel pretty excited. I tested again tonight and it still says pregant. Maybe I will try one more time tomorrow with another brand just to triple check. Can you say obsessive compulsive:D

a positive HPT is just that. If you want to be sure, go get a digital test and retake it in the morning. Congrats
