Six Flags

I saw the post on Disney, but was curious if anyone is familiar with Six Flags theme parks~ we live in IL and planned a trip to the Six Flags Great America with the in-laws for next week. 

 Problem is we aren't planning on telling anyone about the pregnancy until a week after that!  Any thoughts on if that would work without spilling the beans?

    Do you ride the rides?  If not, nothing will be spilt.  If you normally ride roller coasters or anything jerky -- then yep - beans will be spilt, or it'll be just suspecious.  I know Six Flags Mid-America most of the rides aren't pregnancy friendly.

    You could go and say that you'd really rather stick to the waterpark -- do a lot of floating and stuff?  That might work.  Depends on how suspecious your IL are.  Good luck

    I am terrbile at keeping secrets! I ride the rides so my family would definitely think something's up. I have a bad back so I could always say it's bothering me. I also get migraines so I could fake a migraine too.

    You can't ride roller coasters. You also shouldn't be out in really hot weather.

    I grew up 15 miles from Six Flags Atlanta, and spent WAY too much time there in middle and high school.

    I'm all for Disney, but Six Flags is more about the "thrill" rides and I don't know what you would do all day.  Even the water park has slides that throw you around quite a bit.  I wouldn't be worried about the heat any more than normal if you are hydrating though.  1st trimester is the best time for this before your body REALLY heats up!

    Before I knew I was pg, we went to Hershey Park and I got on EVERY ride.  Knowing now, I wouldn't have gone or at least gotten on the easier rides.

    I am not usually a big ride person, so that should be ok...DH also just mentioned tonight they are talking about joining us the day before at the waterpark and staying in the hotel with us the night between, so it would be like 2 straight days with them!  Love them and all but not sure I can go 2 days without feeling sick...ugh

    What part of IL are you from?  I too am from IL.  We were supp to be going to st louis six flags this summer as well but it looks like that will be on hold for now.

    I live in Rockford, so we are a little over an hour away from the six flags by us.  You must be further south!  I've never been to the one in St Louis.

    DH and I talked about it more and he thinks we should just tell them so its not a big deal if I need to go sit down or find a bathroom pretty often!  Now I'm super nervous about how to say it...=)

    verona_1999, where are you from?  I'm from southern Illinois, and Cj714, we lived in Dixon, IL for about  months before my ds was born in 2008!  Only about an hour south of you!  Small world!
