My mom works as a receptionist and met a lady yesterday who's daughter makes and sells baby shoes. She sent me the link and I was in love. They are so freaking adorable! I think we're going to order some pairs because they are soft soled (bella HATES shoes so I'm thinking she may be ok with soft soled instead of hard soles but we'll see). I thought some of you ladies might be interested. (Renee I thought of you because of your shoe post awhile ago). I SO wish I was this good at sewing and could make my own!

very cute
I wonder about traction?
And yes... they would be really easy to sew. I saved this simple pattern a while ago in case I ever have some spare time... hah

it would be easy to modify and dress up the simple robeez like style.
OMG -- SO CUTE!!
Not sure where she'd wear them tho... Would need a special occasion. Or they would be cute for a photo shoot. Super cute tho!

I like the robeez but they seem to always squeeze B's ankle and leave an indentation after just a short time (15 mins or so) so it makes me think they are too tight... and there's no way to adjust it which is frustrating. These are expensive but no more than the See Kai Run or some of the Robeez, I think they may work for Bella since they don't have the elastic all the way around the leg/ankle area but we'll see. I'm ganna splurge on a pair!
As for traction, I've heard that some mom's use clear puff paint and put it on the bottom of shoes and socks for traction because it helps grip... They put it in little dots along the bottom. I've never tried it but I could see how it could work for Bella's socks on the wood floor.
I'm bookmarking this link... it's probably above my skill level but it doesn't hurt to try! I've done mostly pillows and simple stuff and I'm still self teaching. I haven't sewed much since 7th grade!
oh good to know! i haven't put shoes on her yet but just got them...will have to see if they fit her well before keeping them then.
it is worth the splurge to find a pair of good fitting shoes for your LO to walk in!

omg, those are so cute. i like the girl ones a lot more than the boy ones though, phew
I had bookmarked the pattern robbi posted, and there's a flickr group too, if you want to try making them and are looking for inspiration - https://www.flickr.com/groups/clothshoes/pool. i haven't been brave enough to give them a shot yet! still working on the sewing-in-a-straight-line thing...
Yeah me too! I'm trying and venturing out but I haven't even tried a pattern yet. I made curtains for our house, baby headbands, a couple of pillows and a toy for Bella but that's about it... the whole pattern thing freaks me out a little bit!
hehe, i haven't sewn much since 9th grade - but i feel like i was much better then! made some clothes using patterns and curved lines and stuff
