Babies are awesome. But when you hang out with the baby she's not like, "Um, dude, how are your goals and projects going?" She's like, "Um, feed me, jerk." When there?s less accountability it?s easy to slack off at doing things you really want to do.
So, since most of us Nest most days, the Nestie Motivation Check In was born. The purpose is to post about a goal or project that?s important to you so that your fellow Nesties know what you're up to and that "friend accountability" thing is created ?it can be something as small as getting out of the house every day or something as big as looking for a new job. All are welcome.
Here?s how it works:
To join:
Click on the ?Nesties? Projects? link in Larkster?s siggy and?
Larkster will put this information under your screen name on the members list at the beginning of the check in.
To participate / check in daily:
Just update us about your goal / project. How?s it coming? What did you do about it today? How are you feeling about it? That kind of thing.
If you can?t remember the details of someone?s project you can refresh your memory by clicking on ?Nesties? Projects?
Larkster will post check-ins every weekday in the AM and PM (PST) and less frequently on the weekend. Larkster has a link in her siggy to a list of all the projects Nesties are undertaking and the daily check-in.
Larkster digs referring to herself in the third person. USA USA USA!
Re: #### Nestie Motivational Weekend Check In ####
Go, DHester, Go!
I'm doing okay, too, I think.
Re: the Nestie Motivational Check In I feel like I'm doing a good job keeping up with it. Keeping the project list updatd, posting check ins, that kind of thing. But you ladies are the ultimate barometer so please feel free to share your thoughts on how I could make this check in better.
Re: My blog... Hmmm... I think I'm doing okay there too. I've been reading up on blogging and have added a lot of new features to the blog which hopefully will make it more interesting. I feel like finally I'm at a point where I've mainly decided on a "marketing / increase readership" strategy so am able to focus on the content of the blog more. Mainly I just want to write, you know? Link in siggy to my blog if you're interested. And I'd welcome any feed back you might have on that front too!
My parents are coming this afternoon and are leaving tomorrow morning. And then they're coming back on Monday after going up to spend Canadain Thanksgiving with Canadians. So most likely the next few days will be a bit hectic. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up with stuff anyway. Life is hectic. I can't let "stuff happening" be an excuse to slack off on this. Hopefully "stuff" will always "happen" or else life would be pretty stagnant, kwim?
It is super gorgeous out here, so I am happy to say that I have spent the morning clearing up my gardens. I asked poor Dh to move a shrub, but it seems that it had huge roots. We chose just to cut it down instead. This week I'm going to get some plants from DH's aunt and get them planted.
Because the weather is so beautiful, project #2 (the quilt) is somewhat on hold. Work on that project will resume when the weather gets crappy.
Because I'm Canadian, we're celebrating Thanksgiving, so I have a few dinners to go to...which will cut into my gardening time, but it does mean that DH is home, which is hepful.
PS Larkster...I think you are doing a fine job with the check-ins...I'm really impressed!
I think I need to be added. My goals is to one day get a somewhat clean house.
Today, Sunday, I am getting all the laundry done and I cleaned one of the bathrooms and the bedroom.
I still need to clean the living room kitchen and other bathroom.
I also wihs to get my closet cleaned out and re-done. I am going to remodel it, I am hoping to have this done before Christmas, I need to draw up some blueprints and then get to work.
Also I want to go through my closet and clean out everything I can't wear, or haven't worn in over a year. This includes all dressers and cabinets. I would like to have a substantial donation before Christmas.
I had a pretty good weekend and I am having a pretty good day! I got Wyatt's baby book caught up with the exception of putting pics in! Yay me! I also walked twice and one of those times I carried Wyatt a mile because he didn't like the stroller (walking, pushing the stroller and carrying Wyatt). As far as my business goes, I talked with DH about doing a LLC or Incorporating and also looked for a heat press on craigslist.
Thank you so much for this projects list, it is really helping.
