I guess I could have added it in the other post but I'm a PW today.
How many languages do you speak? Spanish is my first language and English my 2nd. Same for my husband and my children speak spanish, english and french.

I also speak a little German but not enough to get by terribly well.

English and Spanish
I can read Italian/French/German (I have to be able to read them for music purposes.)
English is my first, I'm not fluent in French but I get by pretty well.
I can speak enough spanish, standard hindi, telugu, and malayalam for travel purposes (my company used to have a development office in India I traveled to frequently).
At one point in my life I was fluent in 5, but now it's closer to 1.
English is first, I majored in French in college and can still speak it pretty well, but the accent is gone. I'm decent in Sign Language and Spanish (in that I can hold a conversation in either but we have to speak slowly. I used to be fluent in Wolof (tribal language from Senegal) and a few phrases still show up but it's far from fluent now.
Evidently I felt the need to explain myself clearly, sorry.
lol I took German and all I can really remember is how to say " I am a jelly donut".
I love "Travel fluent"! This is me in French, German, and maybe Italian. I know enough in Spanish to get the point across that I don't know a lot of Spanish.
English, Russian, Latvian (yes, Latvian, not Latin) are my 3 primary
then i studied German, Japanese and Arabic in school. Some Italian. Currently learning Urdu and Punjabi. (so, 9)
For DH, it is English, Urdu and Punjabi as primary. He knows some Arabic, Persian, Latvian, Russian (7 for DH)
English and German fluently. I'm 100% Polish, but we were never really sat down and taught it, but I know a bit - probably enough to hold a very simple conversation and sing Happy Birthday and Polish Christmas Carols.
We traveled to Europe a lot before the babies, so I can "travel speak" in Spanish, French, Italian, and Czech (very similar to Polish). However, I consider that just knowing the very basics, like how to count to 10 or so and how to say "hello", "goodbye", "please", "thank you", "how much does that cost?", "where is the bathroom", "do you speak English?", "I don't understand", and most importantly "One cold beer, please."
This! LOL I speak English, a little American Sign Language and I can understand patois, but would never attempt to speak it.
English. I can get by at sign language. I can read Spanish, but not well with conversing it. My brain has forgotten how to do correct grammer for fast talking.
Oh I know Cajun french. It is different than Parisian french.

It's a JFK joke- in a famous speech, he said "Ich bin ein Berliner," meaning "I'm a citizen of the city of Berlin." It could also mean "I am a jam-filled donut," depending on the context.
I am fluent in French, English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and Russian.
I can speak conversational Hindi and understand it. I can read Arabic.
