*lol* Who else has an escape artist with the swaddling?

My 2 week old is a SERIOUS wiggle worm.  It doesn't matter HOW you swaddle him in the velcro swaddle blanket, he always manages to get his arms out of it in the middle of the night.  Who else deals with this?  He seems to really like being swaddled, but I worry when I wake up and find his hand up by his face.

  • The only thing that worked for us was the miracle blanket.

Okay...what exactly is this?  Is it like the swaddle one?  *duh, I should Google...going to look now*

  • From day one, DD has not liked her arms in the swaddle.  We swaddle her from the chest down.
  • DS would only let the nurses at the hospital swaddle him (and I think it was because they swaddled him so tight, he couldn't move at all). We ended up not being able to swaddle him because he hated it so much. We take a big blankie and tuck it into the sides of the bed. When he sleeps, we put him under the blankie, but have it tucked tightly to prevent a SIDs risk. And use long sleeved sleepers, because he still will not let us put anything on his arms >.<
  • DD does the same thing:)  We love watching her on the video monitor after we put her back down.  She fights her arm out no matter what.  We just use the swaddle part of her sleep sack.  She typically sticks them out the bottom with that piece.

  • When I use the swaddleme's, I have to put the first 'arm wrap' side over BOTH arms, then pull the other side over both arms, or she gets out. I tuck the first one under her back after putting it over her arms :) Dunno if that helps, but I know if I ever did it 'loosely' she'd easily pull her arms up to her face :)
